Each eye sends a signal to the brain, and our brain analyzes the difference between the two signals. A resulting experience is depth perception. Each ear sends a signal to the brain, and the resulting analysis gives us the ability to locate the source of a sound - sonic depth perception. An interesting phenomena occurs when the two signals from the ears differ by pitch/frequency. The difference in frequency between the left and right ear creates a third "beat" frequency inside the brain that is equal to this difference. The entire brain's predominant frequency tends to synchronize with this third "beat" frequency.
If you measure the brain's electrical frequencies with an EEG (electroencephalograph) you will find that they fall somewhere between 0 and 40 HZ. This range is generally broken down into four approximate parts.
0 - 4 HZ Delta Range
4 - 8 HZ Theta Range
8 - 12 HZ Alpha Range
12 - 40 HZ Beta Range
When you are in a deep sleep your brain electrically vibrates in the Delta Range. When you are dreaming your brain's cyclic impulses fall in the Theta Range. When you are in a relaxed meditative state your brain is vibrating somewhere in the Alpha Range. And when you are in a highly alert, focused state of mind, your brainwave frequency lies in the Beta Range. Your brain doesn't vibrate at just one frequency, but always possesses many different frequencies. But there is one predominant frequency, which we experience as our state of consciousness. One could also look at it like the subconscious mind is comprised of the Delta and Theta Range, and the conscious mind is made of frequencies in the Alpha or Beta Range. This would put the border between the conscious and subconscious mind around 8 Hz. Coincidently, the Earth's predominate vibration frequency is 7.83 Hz and slowly increasing.
One might ask why it is that we need to use binaural beats to influence the brain's frequency. Why not just use regular sound? Well, the average human ear cannot detect sound frequencies below 20 Hz, so you are left with two options. One, use binaural beats. Or two, use a drum or other musical device to create a beat. Song tempos fall between 1 Hz and 4 Hz, stimulating a Delta Range - a state in which we are not generally consciously aware. This means that Binaural Beats may be the only sonic method available to directly stimulate the 4 Hz - 20 Hz Range.
Living in a fast paced society typically keeps most people in the Beta Range. Thinking and making decisions is a dominant theme during our waking hours, but remaining in the Beta Range for too long is stressful and leads to mental fatigue. It is not necessary for our survival to stay in the Beta Range, but many people do not know how to voluntarily shift their state of mind to the other ranges, and others don't even realize there are other ranges. Yoga, meditation, hypnosis, bio-feedback, and artistic ventures tend to move your conscious state into the Alpha Range, and with practice into the Theta Range. Full conscious awareness in the Theta Range is Lucid Dreaming. You can use binaural beats to train your brain to shift to any desired frequency, and as with everything else - practice makes perfect. You will feel the results of binaural brain entrainment immediately, however you will get the most desired results if you use this technology on a regular basis.
Here at Inner-getics, we have seamlessly incorporated Binaural Beat Technology with Micro-Current Technology. Our Micro-Current generator uses ear clips which transfers a mild electrical current, through the body, at frequencies between 0.05-160 Hz. We then match the frequency of the electrical current with binaural beats, influencing the body and brain in two separate methods. This combination, working in unison, is much more effective than just one of these methods alone, so that you can quickly learn how to easily shift your brain's frequencies. The implications of this ability are truly endless.
